Best Kept Village

We are wild about Best Kept Village!

BREAKING NEWS!  YES we have won the OVERALL Best in Notts title for BEST KEPT VILLAGE in 2012.

It is our first top prize since the year 2000. SEE HERE FOR MORE DETAILS.

We are pleased to help coordinate the village efforts in the competition -and we are supported by the parish council and the Woodborough in Bloom team. If you have a comment contact us on our hotline on 965 6465.

You will sometimes see volunteers – known as the Village Ninjas – sweeping, planting, pruning and weed-pulling in the village in the days leading up to the inspection by the BKV judges. This year’s Ninja Blitz Day was Saturday May 26th and you can see some of the prooff plus some other photos here!

We were pipped at the post for Best in Notts the last two years. It would be great to bring home the overall trophy so we have to make the village lovelier than ever (Chair Laura Wardle)

Woodborough in Bloom’s colour scheme this year is red and purple – the Royal Colours – how about including this in your planting plans?

It is hard work but well worth the effort – especially if we win the top prize.

Best Kept Village awards 2010

WCA chair Laura Wardle accepts our 2010 Best Kept Village division winner award along with vice chair Linda Taylor and other Woodborough BKV volunteers

In 2011 we won the top award for our division – again! Congratulations to all who helped impress the judge with excellent floral displays and immaculate lawns.

If you missed it earlier: Here’s a photo gallery of some lovely scenes from Woodborough – and a few candid Ninja shots!
